This song is brilliant… (or should I say brill)! Apparently Kano has been getting very annoyed at many of the critics whom have voiced their negative opinions about his new mainstream sounding singles, so Kano decided to release a combative record, titled NWMOS, to address all the journalists, bloggers and fans that have been asking him to revert back to his original style of music. The idea to loop a Jay-Z line from Blueprint 3 was absolutely fantastic. And Kano definitely didn't disappoint. I'm fairly neutral on the argument of whether Kano should revert back to his underground style of lyricism. Personally, I'd listen to Kano's music regardless.
I can't wait to hear this new album!

Eminem strikes back against Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon after the multi-platinum pop diva recently released a music video for R&B single, "Obsessed", where she dresses up like Eminem and portrays him as being a compulsive stalker. Eminem has responded with a brand new song titled "The Warning" and it is by far one of the most graphic songs that Eminem has ever written. In the new record, he gives very vivid details about the alleged short-lived sexual relationship that he once shared with Mariah Carey. This feud has definitely taken a turn for the worst. Someone from her team must have googled: Eva Simons, landed on my website, and said "hey that's a great line, let's use it for our marketing campaign".

They've got a lot of nerve haven't they?

Here's the funny part, this same management team sent my web host a notice of copyright infringement for posting the mp3, (which caused a 24-hour shutdown of my site).

Why bother… seriously?

Here's a new freestyle from Kano aka one of the best rappers in London. Apparently he found (or made) a looped instrumental of Jay-Z's "Death of the Autotune" and decided to speak his mind about the current state of rap music. In Death of Everything, Kano implies that autotune isn't the only thing that's currently wrong with hip-hop. He makes numerous references to the fact that most new artists rely on paying famous musicians to feature on their songs in order to sell records. This is brand new music from TN who is, by far, the best rapper in all of Massachusetts. Lyrically there just isn't any competition out there. If you've ever been to Massachusetts you'll know that there really isn't a scene for hip-hop. There's thousands of rappers yet, there are zero major record labels in Massachusetts, and almost every rapper in the state has a day job. As the saying goes "No one is eating off rap music in Mass. And if someone says that they are, they're lying." TN's been jumping around from venue to venue playing shows with everyone from Canibus to Akrobatik. He had the crowd going nuts at the Middle East in Cambridge last week, and he recently got a standing ovation in Allston at the Harpers Ferry. So here's the truth (credit me if you use this information) the new Silly Boy record that everyone thought was performed by Rihanna and Lady Gaga apparently came from the Netherlands. A source recently told me that it is connected to Walboomers Music, a Dutch music production and publishing company. It may have been created by Eva Simons a singer/songwriter for Walboomers and produced by Tearce Keaz, the same person that produced Tania Christopher's "Just Like You" and "Show Me" (which was featured in the movie Step Up 2).

So there you have it, the truth behind Silly Boy…

I'm calling this out early, even though the track is unfinished, and there's still 8 months before 2010, I honestly believe that when these two artists begin to establish themselves as two of the world's most popular rap acts, people will look back at this collaboration in the same light as the legendary 1997 Masta Ace & Eminem collaboration for Hellbound.
I got a chance to listen to this record about 3 months, ago over the phone; I still have no idea when the full remix will be done and released, but I know for a fact that it’s going to feature some pretty big names (you'll have to wait and see). This verse was recently placed on the new "Please, Hold" mixtape which is a gathering of some very very old XV songs such as Cooler Than Ya Boyfriend, along with some very new XV songs and remixes including this one right here. It's sort of a mixed bag for me since I already had 60% of those songs on my computer, but it's great for people that missed all the unreleased XV songs through the years and feel a need to catch up.

So pick that mixtape up, and enjoy the very short, yet memorable, verse from XV on this epic Swedish instrumental with one of the world's best rappers, Henok Achido.

This song takes me back to 2005 when I was a HUGE DC The Midi Alien fanatic. Seriously, any New Hampshire Hip-Hop record from 2004 to 2007 was Golden. Instant Classics. Don't get me wrong, I'm still a DC fan, but not a fanatic. "Gone with the Wind" by Granite State is still, in my opinion, one of the greatest rap instrumentals in underground hip-hop history. That record along with "Livin like this" set a new standard for anyone in New England trying to release rap music around that time.

This new track definitely sounds like a 2005 DC record and it should do really well (as far as underground hip-hop airplay goes) and if you like this record and you do not have the classic 2006 "Breaking Point" album from Granite State, or the 2006 'FundamentalUSA Compilation', you may be selling yourself short. So download this record, and pick up the classic records that came before it, and BUY THE NEW ALBUM – titled RE:Public which is officially in stores throughout the USA & digitally international through Itunes . I love the creative new approach and sound of this record, but I advise people to check out "The Breaking Point" before they grab the new record.

So Here's "The Get Up", Easily the most 'classic' sounding hip-hop record on the album, and features one of my favorite rap Producers, DC. The cuts at the end of the record are phenomenal, you'll be stunned when you get to the three minute mark.
