Eminem Disses Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon… Again!

Eminem

Eminem strikes back against Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon after the multi-platinum pop diva recently released a music video for R&B single, "Obsessed", where she dresses up like Eminem and portrays him as being a compulsive stalker. Eminem has responded with a brand new song titled "The Warning" and it is by far one of the most graphic songs that Eminem has ever written. In the new record, he gives very vivid details about the alleged short-lived sexual relationship that he once shared with Mariah Carey. This feud has definitely taken a turn for the worst. Listen to the song below:

Music Video: Sway and Akon - Silver and Gold

Someone on youtube said "What a good wedding song!". Sorry, I had to laugh at that one. This is another typical Akon record, with a catchy hook, a great instrumental and a chorus that glorifies strippers and gold diggers. All around it's a good song. Sway, from the UK, did a great job in putting this song together. I spoke to him a couple weeks ago when he was in New York City and he told me that Konvict Muzik was planning to release and market this song here in America before the end of the year. He performed it at the Urban Music Awards, earlier in the month. It received a lukewarm response, possibly due to his British accent. At times, I felt as if I was the only person in the front row dancing to it… maybe I was. He made a reference to his accent in “Silver and Gold“, when he says ""She's always telling me that she loves my accent but she's thinking to herself what the hell is he saying". Personally, I don't think the UK accent is really that hard to understand, although, maybe I’m just accustomed to hearing people use it because I have family over there. Last year when Sway released the "Go Hard" freestyle, he spoke about how his accent prevented him from getting signed to many American major labels. ""I was in New York trying to give them my disc, walked into Shady Records and said listen to this… Peter Rosenberg said 'this is a hit but because of your accent, I'm going to give it a miss.'" In my opinion, Sway's accent is barely noticeable especially when you compare it to other UK rappers such as Ghetts. But that's the way my country is, everyone knows that if "Silver and Gold" featured a rapper with an American accent, the song would be 3x platinum and #1 on the Billboard Charts. No matter what the underground critics in the UK say about Sway‘s new sound, you have to absolutely respect him. He's breaking down a lot of barriers here in this country and he's opening the doors for UK rappers to market their music and find success here in America.

Eva Simons campaign motto, "The Truth Behind Silly Boy", stolen from Tripletimexl.com without permission?

Eva Simons

Eva Simons campaign motto, "The Truth Behind Silly Boy" was allegedly stolen from Tripletimexl.com without permission.

The quote was originally used on the last line of: http://tripletimexl.com/the-real-singer-behind-the-silly-boy-demo-intended-for-rihanna-and-lady-gaga/ .

I'm completely perplexed… why would her management visit my page, take a line from my blog post and paste it all over her websites: evasimons.com & myspace.com/evasimons.

Someone from her team must have googled: Eva Simons, landed on my website, and said "hey that's a great line, let's use it for our marketing campaign".

They've got a lot of nerve haven't they?

Here's the funny part, this same management team sent my web host a notice of copyright infringement for posting the mp3, (which caused a 24-hour shutdown of my site).

Why bother… seriously?

People can just Google: "Eva Simons - Silly Boy tripletimexl" and download the song for free!

I'm glad to see that Eva Simons reads my blog…

(mention Tripletimexl.com if you repost this info)

Video: Beyonce - Sweet Dreams

Beyonce has just released one of her best videos of 2009, with "Sweet Dreams". This was the first song that was leaked off of the album "I Am… Sasha Fierce", back in March of 2008. After about a year and some change, the video is finally released to the general public. The song was originally met with mixed reviews by many of the international critics that first reviewed it, however, in America it was seen as a potential ground-breaking smash hit. By releasing it in the summer of 2009, Beyonce's "Sweet Dreams" fits perfectly with many of the top singles in the current American mainstream radio rotation including Black Eyed Peas "Boom Boom Pow", Jeremih's "Birthday Sex (Dance Mix)", and Lady Gaga's "LoveGame". The timing of this record couldn't have been any better. "Sweet Dreams" is on it's way to become one of the biggest songs of 2009.

Now, the astonishing feat lies with Beyonce releasing six singles from her album "I Am… Sasha Fierce". It's very very rare for any artist in this era to release an album with six hit singles. Beyonce's previous album "B'Day" had a whopping seven singles, something that is absolutely unheard of in popular music. The late Michael Jackson, in his hey day, was creating albums with seven, eight and nine singles; the same goes for Janet Jackson and Bruce Springsteen. But in the 2000's, the era of music downloads, dwindling CD sales, and not to mention… a recession, releasing an album with six or more singles twice in a row is an amazing accomplishment. This album is on pace to sell another 5 million units globally before the year ends.

The video for "Sweet Dreams", is just monumental… there's simply no other way to put it. Beyonce obviously pays homage to other futuristic dance videos that came before it such as Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson's "Scream" video, which is known as the most expensive music video of all time. She was also influenced by the innovative fashion designer Thierry Mugler who recently became the main costume designer for her "I Am…" tour. "Sweet Dreams" is now reinvented with the launch of this new earth-shattering video and the newly released deluxe single is going to be a global success. The CD and digital release date for the United Kingdom is going to be on August 3rd 2009.

Video: Addeboy vs. Cliff - Beep My Beep

Watch Addeboy vs. Cliff's "Beep My Beep" on Tripletimexl.com

Addeboy vs. Cliff's "Beep My Beep" is one of the strangest video's I've ever seen. It's so strange, that it's almost brilliant! What do motorcycles, strobe lights and wolves have to do with "beeping" someone's "beep"? Who knows?
I really love the lighting used in this video; everything from the green lasers, the pink sky during the outdoor scene and the four vivid ominous lights that shine behind the thickening fog.
Overall, the best scene in the video has to be the sunset at :50 seconds. The sky looks absolutely amazing throughout that scene.
Addeboy vs. Cliff became international celebrities when they produced Adam Tensta's "My Cool" and "They Wanna Know" from the album "It's a Tensta Thing". They recently went on tour in Los Angeles and displayed their signature sound of electro synths, guitar and frequency filtering. Addeboy vs. Cliff are becoming one of the biggest names in Swedish dance music and production.

Video: Drake - Best I Ever Had

Watch Drake's "Best I Ever Had" on TripletimeXL.com

This may be one of the few times you'll hear me mention Drake on this site, unless he continues to work with skilled seasoned video directors like Kanye West (yes I said it). Kanye West needs a lot more credit for his artistic talents, especially when it comes to videos, he never disappoints. I've read a lot of negative reviews on Drake's "Best I Ever Had" video (which was directed by Kanye West) from people that simply aren't Drake fans and that are greatly overlooking the brilliance of this video. You can hate the artist, but, don't hate the video. You can hate the director, but do not hate the video… because the video is amazing. Starting from the opening shot which sets the scene of a high school gym with raining confetti and a basketball team made up of "video models" running in slow motion in a comedic, yet sexy way, which pays homage to the slow motion effects used in the television series Baywatch. Kanye West made the video classy, and humorous throughout the entire way, by including a storyline of a girls basketball team that cares more about looking good for their coach (Drake) then they do about winning. This video is sheer entertainment. It's a creative concept that allows the hired music video models to be utilized as actresses instead of dancing props (like in other rap videos). The fictional school in the clip is named after Drake and it pays a slight homage to the real Drake University. The team that they're playing against are suppose to resemble the multi-championship winning Bishop Ford Academy in Brooklyn, New York, and Kanye West made sure to include multiple shots of the team banners hanging on the wall.
One common complaint from online critics is that the song has nothing to with the video and vice versa. My question is, why should it? Did any Brittany Spears music videos have anything to do with her songs? No. Did any P. Diddy music videos (other than "I'll be missing you") have anything to do with his songs? No. Were all those music videos brilliant… yes (with the exception of a couple flops). It takes a large amount of skill to take a song and make a video piece that is five to ten times bigger than the original song; and Kanye West achieved this feat with this video.

Green Day's "21 Guns" inspired by Mott the Hoople?

Mott the Hoople All The Young Dudes

There is a growing amount of internet chatter about the similarities between Green Day's new single "21 Guns" and Mott the Hoople's 1972 hit "All The Young Dudes".

The chorus of each song contain the same exact five notes (if transposed), along with an almost identical chord change.

So I wanted to find out what happens when the pitch of Green Day's "21 Guns" is changed from the key of F to the key of D?

"21 Guns" played in the Key of D (First seven seconds of the chorus)

"All The Young Dudes" (First seven seconds of the chorus)

"21 Guns" and "All The Young Dudes" simultaneously.

I don't think that the similarities between "21 Guns" and "All The Young Dudes", and Avril Lavigne's "Complicated" were intentional, however, as a Green Day fan, I'm surprised that they would release a song that contains notable similarities to other rock records such as:
Neil Young - Heart Of Gold
Scott Mackenzie - San Francisco
Electric Light Orchestra- Telephone Line
Avril Lavigne - Complicated
Mott the Hoople - All The Young Dudes

So there it is, the post that will end all posts about the many 21 Guns comparisons. (Because if I don't stop here, I'm going to do this forever.)

Did Green Day steal "21 Guns" from Avril Lavigne?

Green Day

Green Day's newest single 21 Guns, sounds very uncomfortably familiar to Avril Lavigne's multi-platinum hit song, "Complicated", and it's only a matter of time before her publishing company and former label, Arista, begin to take notice. The similarity is so blatant, that you can actually play the two songs at the same time and hear the same exact chord progression and rhythm.
What was Green Day thinking!? It would be a tragedy to see such an iconic rock band, get involved in a career damaging copyright lawsuit.

Here's The Facts:

Avril Lavigne - Complicated (First 24 Seconds).

Green Day - 21 Guns (First 24 Seconds)

Now, Listen to both records simultaneously:

21 Guns and Complicated played simultaneously

Complicated faded into 21 Guns simultaneously

The similarities are clear.
